Host guide: Begin the briefing, advance legs, open and close trading windows, trigger summit decisions, and start the debrief.
Objective: Lead an expedition up and down Everest while managing oxygen, food, equipment, risk, and team ambition.
Setup: Join the room with the code from your facilitator, join your expedition team, and wait at Base Camp.
How to play: Teams vote on safer or riskier routes, manage resources across ascent and descent, trade during trading windows, and decide whether to attempt the summit.
Your role: Help your team balance ambition, safety, resource pressure, and trading choices before each decision.
End condition: Teams need both achievement and survival. Debrief risk appetite, resource planning, trading behavior, and pressure near the summit.
4 legs up to the Summit Zone, then a Summit Attempt, then 4 legs back to Base Camp. Each leg: your team votes on Standard Route (safer, costs more oxygen) or Technical Route (riskier, saves resources). Majority wins. The captain can lock the vote early.
Trading windows open after Leg 2 and after the Summit — 60 seconds each. Trade oxygen, food, and equipment between teams.
Oxygen crisis (oxygen < 0): -3 Summit Points. Struggling (food < 0): -2 Summit Points. Safe return bonus (oxygen ≥1 + food ≥1 at Base Camp): +2 Summit Points. Community score is the sum of all teams' Summit Points.
Thank you for climbing with us. May your real summits be just as hard-won.
